Composition:

2.36g sachet: Diminazene diaceturate 1.05g, excipient q.s.f 2.36g.

Descriptions:

A yellow or orange, crystalline powder, odourless. It will become the orange-red in the light or hot situation..

Indications:

This product is used in the treatment of acute infections caused by various kinds of sensitive bacteria strains, like respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, laryngopharyngitis and bronchitis), urinary tract infections, actinomyces infections, leptospirosis, bacterial gastroenteritis and mastitis among domestic animals, cow flu, and respiratory tract infections (malignant rhinitis and etc.) and bacterial enteritis among domestic fowls. It is also used to control acute onsets of dairy cattle tuberculosis (once daily for 6-7days).

Pharmacological action: N/A

Usage and administration:

10,000-15,000 units per kilogram body weight for domestic animals and 20,000-30,000 units per kilogram body weight for domestic fowls in a single dose of intramuscular injection, twice daily for 2-3 continuous days. Dissolve in proper amount of sterilized water for injection before use.

Side effect and contraindication:

(1)    Renal Toxicity: Renal damages mainly occur at the epithelia of proximal convoluted tubules. Proteinuria and red blood cell in the urine can be observed. Depressed renal function may occur in serious cases.

(2)    Ototoxicity: Dysfunction in vestibules or damages in cochlear nerves may occur. If the pregnant animal was injected this product, its newly born animals may suffer from hearing impairments or renal toxicity.

(3)    Neuromuscular blockade: Inhibition of cardiac muscles or respiratory failure may occur. This can be treated with intravenous injections of Neostigmine (calcium).

Precaution:

(1)   This product is prohibited for animals allergic to amino glucoside.

(2)   Use cautiously when dehydration (may increase the blood concentration) or renal toxicity occurs.

(3)   When used to treat urinary tract infections, this product should be co-administered with oral sodium bicarbonate to make the urine basic.

Withdrawal time:

28 days before slaughtering, 7 days before milking and 7 days before egg-laying.

Storage and expired time:

Tightly sealed and store in a dry place.
